Reed Maidstone is working with an established practice in Maidstone who are looking to add a bookkeeper on to their team. This role involves managing bookkeeping and VAT returns for a diverse portfolio of clients, primarily using Xero. The ideal candidate will have experience in a practice environment and familiarity with multiple accounting systems.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Conduct daily bookkeeping tasks for a varied client portfolio.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time.
• Utilise Xero for most accounting tasks, with the ability to adapt to other systems as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure financial data is accurately recorded and processed.
• Maintain up-to-date financial records and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in bookkeeping, ideally within a practice environment.
• Strong knowledge of Xero and experience with multiple accounting systems.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
