Bookkeeper

Location: Southend
Employment Type: Full-time, Office-based
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of several companies. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for a range of bookkeeping duties, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all transactions. Proficiency in Sage and Microsoft Excel is essential.

• Process supplier and customer invoices

• Ensure timely supplier payments

• Perform bank and petty cash reconciliations

• Process staff expense claim forms

• Post month-end journals including accruals and prepayments

• Manage financial paperwork and filing

• Undertake additional duties as required by management

• AAT qualified or equivalent

• Proven experience using Sage accounting software

• Strong IT proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel

• Previous bookkeeping experience essential

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills

• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Commercial awareness and initiative
