What’s the job?

We are seeking an experienced Motor Trade Branch Accountant to join a well-established and growing automotive business. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of motor trade accounting processes and dealer management systems.

This is a full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week.

Daily responsibilities include;

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports


• Profit and loss analysis across departments (new, used, service, parts)


• Balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts


• VAT returns, payroll oversight, and cashflow management


• Year-end accounts preparation and liaison with external auditors


• Stock reconciliation and margin analysis


• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Accountant within the motor trade


• Strong knowledge of motor trade accounting practices and KPIs


• Experience with dealer management systems (e.g. Kerridge, Pinewood or similar)


• Excellent analytical and organisational skills


• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience working with franchised or multi-site dealerships
