Role: History Teacher

As a History Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that inspire and engage students in their study of history. You will support students in developing a well-rounded understanding of historical events, figures, and concepts. Your role will include:

As a History Teacher, you should be planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and meaningful History lessons to students of various age groups (KS3, KS4, and KS5).

• Encouraging students to apply historical analysis and critical thinking skills in various contexts.


• Supporting students in their academic development, providing guidance and assistance when needed.


• Collaborating with other members of staff to ensure a holistic approach to education.


• Contributing to the development of the History curriculum.


• Participating in the assessment and monitoring of student progress in History.


• Ensuring the effective delivery of the History syllabus.


• Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment within the History department.


• As a qualified History Teacher, you will be expected to attend departmental meetings.

Key Qualities We Are Looking For:

• A strong passion for History and a desire to support students' historical understanding.


• A recognized teaching qualification in History, or equivalent.


• Experience in teaching History to secondary-aged students is highly desirable.


• A passion for developing young people academically and critically.


• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a stimulating and collaborative team.
