Build Technician

Location: Cheltenham
Duration: 6 months
Rate: Market rates, inside IR35
Clearance: SC clearable (start on BPSS), UK Eyes OnlyResponsibilities

Build test equipment to schematics and engineering drawings
Build and test electrical harnesses
Electro-mechanical assembly of COTS equipment
Install equipment into 19-inch racks and safety enclosures
Modify standard parts as required (e.g., drilling holes, tapping, creating apertures, panel preparation where no mounting points exist)
Maintain a neat, safe, professional finish and strong workmanship standards
Document builds and red-line drawing changes arising during build activity
Work to technical instructions, quality procedures, and H&S requirementsSkillset / Experience Required

Proven experience as a Build / Assembly / Electro-Mechanical Technician
Hands-on experience with electrical harness build and test
Strong mechanical assembly capability (tools, workshop practices, enclosure/rack builds)
Ability to interpret technical drawings/schematics and follow build instructions accurately
Comfortable with physical build work (rack builds, panel/enclosure modification, drilling/tapping)
High attention to detail; methodical and tidy approach to build quality
Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
