Building Control Officer

Our client is seeking a Building Control Officer to support the delivery of a professional building control service. The role will involve site inspections, plan vetting and approval, and the supervision of building work in accordance with Building Regulations and associated legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out site inspections throughout the stages of building work
Vetting and approving plans in line with Building Regulations and allied legislation
Supervising building work to ensure compliance with approved plans and statutory requirements
Providing professional building control advice to customers, contractors and other stakeholders
Maintaining accurate inspection records, reports and regulatory documentation
Supporting the delivery of an efficient, consistent and high-quality Building Control service
Representing the service professionally and contributing to excellent customer outcomes

Job Requirements:

Registration as a Building Inspector at Class 2A or Class 2A/2C level
Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and allied building legislation
Experience in building control, plan assessment and site inspection
Understanding of construction methods, compliance requirements and building standards
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong attention to detail with the ability to assess technical information effectively
Ability to work independently while managing inspections and regulatory tasks remotely

Contract Details:

Rolling three-month contract
37 hours per week
Predominantly remote working
Occasional office attendance, expected approximately once per month
