Principal People are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a well-established Housing Association to recruit a Building Safety Surveyor as part of the continued growth of its Building Compliance team.

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety and Building Compliance, you'll play a key role in ensuring homes remain safe, compliant and well maintained. This is a varied role covering all aspects of building compliance, with a particular focus on fire safety, building safety and water safety, while also supporting compliance across areas such as asbestos. As a key member of the Building Compliance team, you'll work collaboratively with residents, contractors and colleagues to manage specialist compliance contracts Support Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs), review risk assessments, undertake inspections and provide expert technical guidance. You'll also help shape and continuously improve the Building Safety function, ensuring the highest standards of compliance across the portfolio. About the Building Safety Surveyor
To be successful, you'll have:
Experience managing building compliance within social housing, local government or a similar property environment. Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, particularly fire safety, with experience of water hygiene and asbestos highly desirable. A good understanding of the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety legislation and Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs). Experience managing specialist contractors and driving compliance programmes. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, contractors and colleagues. A relevant surveying, construction or building maintenance qualification, or equivalent practical experience. A full UK driving licence. Why Apply?
