Building Services Electrical Engineer

Summary:

We are seeking a senior agency Building Services Electrical Engineer to join our London-based engineering team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects, primarily focusing on commercial, data centre, and airport developments, with a strong emphasis on project delivery. Candidates should have design consultancy experience and be capable of working autonomously while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team. The role requires a self-motivated individual able to produce high-quality electrical designs. Key responsibilities include undertaking electrical design work across various projects, producing designs using industry-standard software, collaborating and coordinating with other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions, carrying out condition surveys and inspections of existing building services, preparing clear and structured technical reports for clients, working closely with BIM Technicians to develop 3D models and schematics, and writing system specifications using NBS software.

Skills:

Proven experience in electrical design consultancy within building services
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Competence in undertaking condition surveys and inspections of building services
Ability to produce high-quality electrical designs
Experience in preparing clear, structured technical reports
Coordination and collaboration with other engineering disciplines
Proficiency in writing system specifications using NBS software
Self-motivated with strong organisational skills
Ability to work effectively with BIM Technicians on 3D modelling and schematics

Software/Tools:

Industry-standard electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Amtech, Dialux/Relux)
BIM software (e.g., Autodesk Revit)
NBS specification software
Microsoft Office Suite

Certifications & Standards:

Relevant professional qualifications in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (degree or equivalent)
Familiarity with British Standards and IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
Experience with design standards and codes applicable to commercial, data centre, and airport developments
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to building services engineering
