Building Services Manager

Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing Westminster Council who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience

We are looking for a Building Services Manager this role will be based at:
City Hall 64 Victoria Street, SW1E6QP, Hybrid Working

The right candidate will:

* Prepare and submit Building Assessment Certificate (BAC) applications for Higher Risk Buildings.

* Develop and maintain Safety Case Reports, Resident Engagement Strategies and Mandatory Occurrence Reporting systems.

* Produce and maintain building safety risk assessments relating to fire and structural failure.

* Identify hazards, assess risks and implement effective control measures.

* Escalate deficiencies and non-compliance issues where controls are inadequate.

* Create, review and maintain emergency plans for Higher Risk Buildings.

* Liaise with the Building Safety Regulator through the designated contact.

* Work collaboratively with internal teams, consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated regulations.

* Partner closely with Fire Safety and Development teams to maintain the Golden Thread of Building Information.

* Undertake building inspections and report on defects, risks and required improvement works.

* Support procurement activities and contribute to client briefs where improvement works are required.

* Provide specialist building safety advice across the organisation.

We require the following:

* Experience working within local government, housing, construction management, building surveying, project management or contract administration environments.

* Experience using compliance management systems and reporting software.

* Experience engaging with residents, leaseholders, elected members and senior stakeholders.
