Building Services Technical Manager - Electrical Biased

Responsibilities

• Leading projects from their inception, ensuring designs are completed on time and in line with a client’s budget
  
• Organising the production of MEP performance specifications to RIBA Stage 2/3 for the supply chain to tender on a D&B basis.
  
• Develop specifications, drawings and & schedules.
  
• Carry out building surveys/appraisals and produce reports and recommendations for existing and/or new MEP services including BMS controls.
  
• Assist & advise the Estimation, Pre -Construction, and Design teams with key issues, problem solving, identification of risk, and budgeting of MEP services.
  
• Input into, and Evaluation of Sub -Contractor tender bids and design documentation.
  
• Assisting Sales in pitching projects and putting together MEP information for client presentations.
  
• Chair MEP site meetings, offer technical advice, and monitoring of sub -contractor progress.
  
• Review and Approval of Sub -Contractor technical submissions and drawings.
  
• Attend, and chair where appropriate, meetings with the client, the designers, specialist contractors and other team members.
  
• Assisting the Project Manager with void closure and periodic MEP inspections / sign off’s where required.
  
• Prepare commissioning programmes and manage the commissioning process where required.
  
• Contribute to the regular project reports and attend project meetings, including formal Quality Audits on ongoing and completed projects.
  
• Operational responsibility for delivery of building services engineering works in terms of compliance and quality.
  

Skills & Experiences

• Experience in the fitout industry, ideally with involvement in project values exceeding £5m+.
  
• Knowledge of mechanical, public health, electrical and life safety building services.
  
• Knowledge and understanding of local market and subcontractors.
  
• Knowledge of the pre -construction process, ideally with knowledge of managing the design phase of a project
  
• Recognised qualifications in building services engineering.
  
• Knowledgeable of local building services codes of practice, and health & safety standards / systems.
  
• Ideally, experienced in the use of Microsoft Project / Vista and Construction Project Management software.
  
• Ability to collate information from the team to prepare and present the project report.
  
• A relationship focused approach to clients and sub -contractors.
