Building Surveyor – Housing (Social Housing Provider) Regional Housing Association £220 PAYE to £290 Umbrella per day 37.5 hours per week / 5 days per week Permanent
We are working with a large Housing Association who are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to support the delivery of high-quality planned and reactive maintenance services across their housing stock. The role focuses on improving customers’ homes, enabling residents to live independently, and supporting health and wellbeing outcomes. You will work closely with Asset Leads, housing teams, and contractors to deliver surveying and project management services across predominantly residential properties, with some commercial assets.
Key responsibilities Carry out full building surveys and produce detailed reports, specifications, and recommendations, including cost analysis Project manage planned maintenance, reactive works, and complex repair projects from inception to completion Support Asset Leads with contract management, contractor performance, and programme delivery Oversee responsive repairs to inform and improve planned maintenance programmes Manage disrepair works in liaison with legal teams, ensuring timely and compliant delivery Conduct post-inspections to ensure works are completed to the required quality and contractual standards Assist with void property inspections and oversee contractor works in line with asset strategies Investigate and respond to service complaints, providing clear recommendations and customer updates Provide technical advice on major repairs, cyclical maintenance, FRA, EPCs, and other related works Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, CDM, and statutory requirements at all timesRequirements Proven experience working as a Building Surveyor within social housing or a similar environment Strong knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance delivery Experience using contract documentation such as JCT and/or NEC Ability to produce high-quality technical reports and specifications Project management experience across multiple workstreams Relevant surveying qualification or equivalent experience Membership of RICS or CIOB (desirable) DEA and/or FRA assessor training (desirable) Full UK driving licenceWhat’s on offer Competitive salary and benefits package Opportunity to work with a well-established housing provider Supportive team environment with professional development opportunitiesContact: James at Service Care Solutions (url removed) | (phone number removed) Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
