We are seeking a Building Surveyor to join a busy Facilities Management team responsible for supporting the maintenance and management of a large and diverse property portfolio across North Yorkshire. This role would suit a Building Surveyor with experience in reactive and planned maintenance who enjoys a varied workload and working closely with property, maintenance and operational teams to ensure buildings are safe, compliant and well-maintained. You do not need to be operating at a Senior Building Surveyor level, but you should have a solid understanding of building maintenance, repairs and property management within a commercial, public sector or mixed-use environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee reactive maintenance projects across a diverse property portfolio. Assist in the delivery of planned maintenance programmes and lifecycle replacement works. Undertake property inspections and condition surveys. Identify building defects and provide appropriate recommendations for repair. Prepare specifications, schedules of work and cost estimates. Manage contractors on site and monitor the quality of completed works. Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety, statutory and building regulations. Support property improvement and refurbishment projects. Liaise with internal stakeholders, contractors and external consultants. Maintain accurate property records and assist with asset management initiatives.About You
Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related construction discipline. Experience delivering reactive and planned maintenance works. Knowledge of building defects, repair techniques and maintenance management. Ability to undertake condition surveys and prepare technical reports. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience managing contractors and service providers. Full UK driving licence.Desirable Experience
Previous Facilities Management experience. Experience working within a large property portfolio. Knowledge of public sector property environments.What's on Offer
