Business Analyst - Clinical Systems
Manchester | Hybrid (1 day per week onsite)
We're supporting a leading healthcare organisation undergoing a significant technology and business transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join the team.
This role will focus on the analysis, optimisation and enhancement of clinical and operational systems, working closely with frontline stakeholders, business leaders and technology teams to deliver improvements that support patient care, operational efficiency and organisational performance.
The successful candidate will play a key role in understanding business needs, analysing current processes and helping shape future-state solutions across a complex, multi-site environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead requirements gathering activities with clinical, operational and technology stakeholders. Facilitate workshops, process reviews and discovery sessions to understand current ways of working. Analyse and document business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and standardisation. Produce high-quality business requirements, user stories, process maps and functional specifications. Support the implementation and enhancement of clinical, patient management and operational systems. Work with delivery teams to ensure solutions meet business and user needs. Support testing, user acceptance activities and business readiness initiatives. Manage requirements traceability and ensure alignment to programme objectives. Identify risks, issues and dependencies associated with business change. Contribute to digital transformation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience Required
Proven experience working as a Business Analyst within complex organisations. Strong experience delivering projects involving clinical, healthcare, patient management or operational systems. Demonstrable expertise in requirements elicitation, stakeholder engagement and process mapping. Experience documenting current and future state processes. Strong knowledge of business change and transformation delivery. Experience working across both business and technical teams. Exposure to Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery environments. Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Experience
Healthcare, NHS, primary care, dental, community care or wider clinical services experience. Experience supporting Electronic Patient Record (EPR), Electronic Health Record (EHR), clinical workflow or patient administration systems. Knowledge of healthcare operational processes, patient journeys and regulatory requirements. Experience with process improvement methodologies such as BPMN, Lean or Six Sigma. Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Visio, Confluence and Power BI. Exposure to AI, automation platforms, Power Automate, UiPath or Copilot-enabled solutions. You'll be a naturally curious and collaborative Business Analyst who enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders to solve problems and improve business outcomes. You'll be confident challenging existing processes, identifying opportunities for change and translating complex requirements into practical solutions.
