Job Description - Business & Private Office Funding Manager
Business & Private Office Funding Manager
Location: Southend-on-Sea and Leigh-on-Sea Working pattern: Four days per week Salary: Dependent on experience
We are seeking a senior, hands-on professional to take ownership of projects across several owner-managed businesses, develop and secure funding opportunities, and manage the business owner’s personal and property affairs.
This role requires someone who can take a brief, organise the work, coordinate the right people and see it through to completion. You will work independently, anticipate what needs doing and provide clear updates on progress and decisions required.
Key responsibilities
* Lead business projects from the initial brief through to completion, taking responsibility for planning, deadlines and delivery.
* Coordinate advisers, suppliers and other stakeholders, resolving issues and following up outstanding actions.
* Research and assess suitable grants, loans and other funding opportunities.
* Develop and coordinate funding applications, including business cases, budgets and supporting evidence.
* Manage submission deadlines, funder communications and post-award reporting.
* Oversee financial records using QuickBooks, maintaining accurate information across multiple businesses and projects.
* Monitor cash flow, budgets and financial commitments, working closely with external accountants.
* Manage confidential personal and property administration, including insurance, renewals, mortgages and recurring commitments.
* Liaise with banks, brokers, solicitors, accountants, property agents and contractors.
* Maintain a clear overview of priorities, risks and deadlines across business and private affairs.
Essential experience
* Proven experience in a senior business management, operations or private-office role with substantial responsibility.
* Specific examples of projects you have personally managed and delivered.
* Direct experience developing or coordinating funding applications, with a clear explanation of your contribution and the outcomes.
* Practical, hands-on QuickBooks experience and strong financial management skills.
* Experience managing confidential personal affairs, property matters and external advisers.
* Sound judgement, discretion and the confidence to act independently within an agreed brief.
* Strong written communication, organisation and follow-through.
This appointment extends well beyond bookkeeping. Demonstrable project delivery and funding experience are essential; an interest in learning about grants will not be sufficient.
Own transport is required for some local travel. Our client is unable to offer visa sponsorship.
To apply, please submit your CV with a short summary covering:
* Projects you have personally delivered and the results achieved.
* Funding applications you have contributed to, your specific role and the outcomes Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
