We are seeking an experienced Business Case Consultant to join our growing team.

This permanent role is based in our office in central Dundee.

The role

You will lead the development of comprehensive business cases for a range of projects in the UK and overseas.

This will build on a deep understanding of UK government guidance and standards for business cases, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.

Your responsibilities will include:

Developing robust and compelling business cases, ensuring alignment with the standards and guidelines of the relevant funding bodies.
Conducting detailed cost-benefit analyses, financial modelling, and risk assessments to support business case development.
Collaborating with clients and stakeholders to gather necessary data and insights, ensuring business cases are comprehensive and tailored to project requirements.
Facilitating workshops and meetings with clients to define project goals, scope, and success criteria
Providing expert advice on best practices for business case development and ensuring all deliverables meet high-quality standards.
Staying up-to-date with relevant UK government policies, standards, and frameworks, including HM Treasury’s Green Book, the Five Case Model, and other pertinent guidelines.
Preparing and presenting business case documents and reports to clients, stakeholders, and funding bodies.
Business development and proposal writing
Contributing to the continuous improvement of business case methodologies and tools within Urban Foresight.

Skills and experience

We are keen to meet candidates from a range of backgrounds.

The ideal candidate would have:

A relevant degree and professional experience
Experience of developing successful business cases
Strong understanding of standards and guidelines for business cases, including HM Treasury’s Green Book and the Five Case Model
Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills, with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams
Experience of successful business development and writing proposals to win new consultancy contracts.
