Job Description - Business Development Manager

Job Title: Business Development Manager – IT Channel

Location: Wiltshire
Department: Sales / Channel Development
Reports To: Head of Channel Sales
Type: Full-Time | Hybrid

About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing team in the IT Channel space. This role is pivotal in driving strategic partnerships, expanding our channel ecosystem, and accelerating revenue growth through indirect sales models. You will work closely with VARs, MSPs, distributors, and technology partners to identify new business opportunities and strengthen existing relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Channel Strategy & Growth:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive channel development strategy aligned with company goals.
    • Identify, recruit, and onboard new channel partners to expand market reach.
  • Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders across the channel ecosystem.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for partners, ensuring alignment and satisfaction.
  • Sales Enablement:

    • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to deliver partner training, sales tools, and go-to-market campaigns.
    • Support partners in lead generation, pipeline development, and deal closure.
  • Market Intelligence:

    • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to inform strategy.
    • Provide feedback to internal teams on market needs and partner requirements.
  • Performance Tracking:

    • Set KPIs and track partner performance against revenue and growth targets.
    • Prepare regular reports and forecasts for senior leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in business development or channel sales within the IT industry.
  • Strong understanding of the IT channel landscape, including VARs, MSPs, and distributors.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and partner management platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, IT, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
