Job Description - Business Development Manager




Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to sell multi-utility solutions for new housing schemes across the South of the UK and play a pivotal role in expanding our presence in the multi-utility sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and contributing to the growth and success of our multi-utility services.


Key Responsibilities:





  1. Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification:






    • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients, market trends, and emerging opportunities in the multi-utility sector.

    • Analyse competitor activities and industry developments to maintain a competitive edge.






  1. Business Development:






    • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth.

    • Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers, developers, contractors, and stakeholders in the housing and construction industry.

    • Work closely with the technical and project management teams to tailor solutions that meet the specific needs of clients.






  1. Proposal Development and Presentation:






    • Prepare compelling and tailored proposals, presentations, and tender submissions in collaboration with the technical team.

    • Deliver persuasive presentations to potential clients, showcasing the value proposition of our multi-utility services.






  1. Contract Negotiation and Closure:






    • Lead negotiations with clients to secure contracts, ensuring favourable terms and conditions.

    • Work closely with legal and finance teams to finalise contractual agreements.






  1. Client Relationship Management:






    • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.








Requirements



Qualifications and Experience:





  • Proven track record in business development within the utility, construction, or related industries.

  • Strong understanding of multi-utility connections and the regulatory landscape in the UK.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Results-oriented with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.

  • Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
