Business Development Manager – UK – Data Centre

An opportunity has arisen for a commercially driven Business Development Manager / Work Winning Bid Manager to join a leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor, headquartered in Enfield. Operating across complex, high-value projects, the business delivers full turnkey solutions across civil engineering, groundworks, structures, and utilities packages, with a strong reputation for quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

With continued growth in the Data Centre sector, the business is looking to strengthen its pre-construction and work-winning function. This role will play a key part in securing major civils packages on hyperscale and mission-critical projects, working closely with senior leadership, estimating, and operational teams to drive pipeline growth and convert opportunities into secured work.

Responsibilities

* Lead Work Winning Strategy

Develop and implement targeted business development strategies focused on securing civils and infrastructure packages within the Data Centre sector, aligning with company growth objectives.

* Manage End-to-End Bid Process

Take ownership of the full bid lifecycle from PQQ through to tender submission, coordinating internal teams and external stakeholders to produce high-quality, competitive submissions.

* Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, consultants, and supply chain partners, positioning the business as a preferred contractor for complex civil engineering packages.

* Commercial & Technical Input

Collaborate with estimating, planning, and delivery teams to develop winning methodologies, value engineering solutions, and commercially robust proposals that reflect the company’s expertise in infrastructure and groundworks.

* Pipeline Development & Market Intelligence

Identify and track new opportunities within the Data Centre and wider infrastructure market, maintaining a strong pipeline and providing strategic insight on market trends, competitors, and client requirements.

Requirements

* Minimum 6+ years’ experience in a Business Development, Bid Management, or Work Winning role, with a strong focus on Data Centre or mission-critical projects

* Proven background working for a civil engineering or infrastructure contractor, with a solid understanding of groundworks, enabling works, and major civils packages

* Demonstrated track record of contributing to successful tender submissions and securing new work within the Data Centre or large-scale infrastructure sector

Benefits

£95,000 - £100,000 + Bonus + Package
