Business Development Manager - UK FMCG

Location: UK-wide, field-based with hybrid flexibility by agreement

Salary: £28,000-£40,000 basic, depending on experience

Bonus: Quarterly performance bonus of up to one month's basic salary

Benefits: Company car or car allowance; 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays

Contract: Initial 12-month contract with a three-month probation period

Hours: 40 hours per week

About the opportunity

LT Selection is recruiting on behalf of a confidential, established UK FMCG business. The role combines new-business development with account management across a national territory.

You will win new customers, grow existing relationships, understand customer requirements, prepare forecasts and help deliver sustainable commercial growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new-business opportunities and win new customers


• Build, manage and grow long-term customer relationships


• Understand customer requirements and propose suitable commercial solutions


• Manage key accounts and identify further growth opportunities


• Plan and manage a UK-wide territory effectively


• Prepare accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports


• Monitor market activity, pricing trends and competitor movements


• Work closely with internal teams to provide excellent customer service

Essential experience and skills

• At least three years' field-sales experience


• A strong track record in new-business development and account management


• Commercial negotiation skills and sound commercial awareness


• Strong territory-planning and time-management skills


• Confident presentation and communication skills


• A full UK driving licence

Desirable experience

Experience in FMCG, food or protein sectors is highly desirable. Knowledge of commodity markets would also be advantageous.
