Job Description - Business Development Representative

AlliedOffsets was created by AlliedCrowds, a data and tech firm based in London. We are expanding our product offering and are looking for the right people to help us grow.

What We Do

AlliedOffsets has a unique mission: combine technology, data, and finance to bring radical transparency to carbon offsetting. We do this by creating innovative data products that help to improve transparency in the market. With 20,000+ projects in our database including details about the project, carbon credits, buyers, retirements, news, brokers, resellers, prices, forward curves and much more. Our current clients include corporations, financial institutions, brokers, academia, consulting firms, public sector entities, and research organizations.

Why We Do It

Carbon offsetting is becoming increasingly popular as companies and individuals around the world take a more active role in mitigating climate change. However, the market is very fragmented with (until now) no central registry for all the projects, making it difficult to know what the projects are, and how they compare with others. Our database allows a wide variety of industry actors to access information on projects across all registries, in order to make the market more transparent and available to all.

Role Description

Business development representatives (BDRs) focus on finding and qualifying new sales opportunities. They qualify in-bound leads, identify new markets and expand current coverage to generate leads. BDRs engage with interested clients and connect them with account executives.

In the BDR role, you will leverage your knowledge of the sales cycle and qualification techniques to effectively screen in-bound leads. You will participate in social selling and networking to improve brand awareness and generate new leads. You will develop a strong understanding of AlliedOffsets products to effectively communicate to leads. Success in this role will be demonstrated by an increase in sales qualified leads, improved conversion rates for SQL to Customers, and growth of the customer base.

Responsibilities

Conduct qualification calls of in-bound leads

Perform research on customer segments, competition and industry participants to provide insight into the broader sales team

Attend networking events to increase AlliedOffsets brand awareness and identify potential leads

Support marketing campaigns

Establish a presence on relevant Social Media channels

Generate Sales Qualified Leads for the Sales team

Maintain CRM (HubSpot) Conduct ad hoc research in support of Sales Outreach efforts

Conduct demo's

Required & Preferred Experience

Minimum 1 year of business development or sales experience preferred

Working knowledge of Hubspot CRM or similar applications

Knowledge of business processes and sales techniques

Exemplary written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work in a dynamic team environment

Comfortable in a complex an shifting environment

Carbon Market or Sustainability knowledge gained through work experience or education

Fluent in Spanish or another relevant language

BA in a related discipline

Experience working in a start up

Compensation

Compensation for this position will be made of a base salary (based on experience), as well as a commission plan in place.
