Job Description - Business Development Representative (Funding and Credit)

Playter is a fast-scaling, VC-backed FinTech company that is disrupting Credit within Embedded Finance. Our mission is to help any business spread the cost of any invoice that we receive, as well as advancing cash to SMB’s that invoice their business customers. Having raised $55m in 2022, we're now looking to add amazing people to our team as we scale throughout the UK and beyond!

Job Title:

Business Development Representative (Funding and Credit)

(BDR)
Location : London, Farringdon/Chancery Lane (3 days a week in the office minimum)
Salary : £30k-£35k Basic - £50k OTE Uncapped
Bonus:

Equity package available on completion of probation (6 months)

Job Purpose:
The BDR will be a key part of our Commercial Team, responsible for engaging with UK commercial brokers and encouraging them to collaborate with Playter to recommend suitable businesses for our lending product. This role is crucial for increasing our company's visibility, expanding our client base, and driving consistent revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:
Building relationships with UK commercial brokers to inform them about Playter's product offerings
Onboarding brokers to our new broker portal and providing necessary support
Collaborating with brokers to generate and pursue business leads
Facilitating the underwriting process for broker-sourced prospects and closing deals
Relationship Managing brokers to ensure long-term partnerships and continuous lead generation
Generating consistent revenue for the business
Outbound sales to onboard new brokers to our portfolio of existing broker clients
Sourcing old leads from our database to find out if they are interested in using our product
Keeping the CRM fully up to date for other stakeholders
Thinking smart. “How can I grow our broker base even larger to win more business?” is critical thinking.

Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 1-years experience in B2B sales, selling to SMB
Demonstrated resilience and ability to close deals while maintaining strong, productive relationships
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for communication and management
Interest in working within a startup environment, preferably within a scaling VC-backed FinTech
Natural problem solver
Ability to work without constant instruction
Proactive personality with huge ambition to help the business to succeed
Ability to understand finance and think on the spot as to how to help SMB’s with our funding
Extremely organised and results driven
Willing to get your hands dirty.
You’re thick skinned. Startups are tough, it’s not going to be easy.
