POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director for Business Development & Marketing for Crane ChemPharma & Energy, this role is responsible for research and analysis supporting Business Development (M&A) and Strategic planning to inform the organic and inorganic growth strategy for the business.
For Business development the key deliverable is to conduct space assessments to determine attractiveness / extendibility and support research for identification, screening, assessment, acquisition, and integration of M&A targets.
For Strategy the key deliverable is to support the research and analysis as a part of structured Strategy development process and work with VP/GMs and business teams to develop go-to-market strategies from concept to commercialization using strategy frameworks and tools.
This role may be based in the UK or US.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development – M&A Conduct space assessments to identify attractive and extendible spaces for M&A Identify and screen potential acquisition targets, support target identification activities and help manage input to the corporate acquisition radar. Develop detailed profiles for acquisition targets and make recommendations for attractive targets to pursue. Support valuation modelling, financial analysis and business case development for acquisition targets to inform attractiveness and extendibility. Support due diligence and integration activities for acquisition targets. Support research, analysis, and business case development for divestitures.
Strategic Planning Conduct the research and analysis required to support the annual 3 year Strategic plan. Support Business VP/ GMs to define growth strategies for new markets / products using standard strategy frameworks. Support business teams to assess market sizing, competitive landscape, value chain analysis, economic value assessment, voice of customer, customer segmentation, commercialization plans and industrialization plans for strategic growth initiatives. Support the development of Marketing best practices to develop effective value propositions and sales tools that are practical to use and aligned to segmentation and regional specific requirements; ensure full alignment with the Sales organization. Proactively interact cross functionally with Sales, Marketing Communications, IT, Finance, and other functions to communicate routinely on key strategies, growth initiatives, and tools
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
MBA. Preferred concentrations Strategy, Finance. Undergraduate degree in Chemical, Materials or Mechanical Engineering At least 2 years’ experience in Chemical or Pharmaceutical industry before MBA. Preferred: At least 2 years’ experience in internal consulting / corporate development post MBA Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced knowledge of Power Point and Excel is required. Proficiency in data analysis tools including but not limited to excel, Power BI, R, SQL databases. Highly organized and detail oriented Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively build key relationships. Excellent presentation skills verbal and written. Excellent analytical skills High energy level combined with a passion for the business. Strong sense of urgency to drive business activities and team members to achieve goals Results oriented; must have high performance standards for self and team Impeccable values of honesty and integrity
