Location: Coventry (Hybrid Working) Flexible Day Rate Interim Contract Our client, a large and forward thinking local government organisation based in Coventry, is seeking an experienced BI & Insights Manager on an interim basis to lead their Business Intelligence, Insights and Data function. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven BI leader to drive data-led decision making across a complex organisation, leading a team of analysts while delivering high quality insight, performance reporting and business intelligence solutions that support strategic objectives and service improvement.
The Role
As BI & Insights Manager, you will be responsible for leading the collection, analysis and interpretation of organisational data, ensuring stakeholders have access to accurate, meaningful and actionable insights. Working closely with senior leaders, service areas and key stakeholders, you will develop performance frameworks, dashboards and analytical reporting that enable informed decision making and continuous improvement. The role is offered on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of two days per week in the Coventry office, alongside additional attendance as required to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage and develop a team of Senior BI, Insight and Data Analysts. Partner with services across the organisation to gather and interpret business requirements. Oversee the design, development and maintenance of dashboards, reports and business intelligence solutions. Drive a consistent approach to performance reporting and management information across services. Ensure the quality, accuracy and integrity of all published data, analysis and reporting. Produce insightful analysis, commentary, trend identification and benchmarking to support operational and strategic decision making. Develop reporting solutions and support the automation of management information processes. Work closely with senior stakeholders, IT teams and service leads to influence system and operational improvements. Provide expert advice on analytical methodologies, business intelligence and data management. Identify opportunities to improve services, reduce costs and enhance organisational performance through data and insight. Lead the implementation and development of BI tools, data visualisation and reporting platforms. Support statutory reporting requirements and organisational inspection readiness. Deputise for the Head of Performance, Data and Continuous Improvement when required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring substantial experience within business intelligence, analytics and performance management, coupled with strong leadership capabilities.
Proven experience in a Business Intelligence Manager, Insights Manager or similar leadership role. Previous experience working within a Local Authority or wider public sector environment. Experience leading and developing analytical and reporting teams. Strong knowledge of business intelligence tools, reporting solutions and dashboard development. Experience of data modelling, data warehousing and managing complex datasets. Knowledge of information governance, data management and data protection legislation, including GDPR. Understanding of local government structures, services and performance frameworks.
