Business Manager

We are seeking a Bursar & Business Manager to join our team at a leading educational institution. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and strategic management of various key areas including finance, estates, IT, human resources, fundraising, marketing, and administration. The successful candidate will act as the company secretary to the Board and will be instrumental in driving strong governance and strategic planning.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Oversee the strategic planning, development, and performance of finance, estates, IT, human resources, and administration.
• Promote and develop strong financial and IT procedures and strategies.
• Ensure the overall quality of the estate is enhanced and maintained.
• Drive and enforce strong governance, risk management, and integrity across the entire organisation.
• Provide timely, sound, and practical advice to the Board, Principal, and Senior Management Team.
• Promote innovation and efficiency across all disciplines.
• Manage key personnel including the Head of Finance, Estates Manager, Head of IT and Innovation, HR Services Manager, and others.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Excellent financial management knowledge and skills.
• Strong leadership capabilities with demonstrated experience in managing teams.
• Resilience, determination, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team.
• Prior experience in a school or educational environment is desirable but not essential.
• Strong analytical, presentation, and report writing skills.
