Business Manager

Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Business Manager to join Sheffield City Council, supporting the service to deliver effective business planning, financial management and continuous improvement. This is a temporary contract for 6 months with a view to extend.

Key Responsibilities

Produce budget reports and financial forecasts to support effective financial management.

*

Support budget changes and contribute to service business planning.

*

Lead business improvement projects and implement changes to improve service delivery.

*

Develop and maintain performance management information, monitoring targets and identifying opportunities for improvement.

*

Manage business support processes and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders.

*

Ensure effective business continuity arrangements and support the Council’s emergency planning.

*

Lead on complaints, Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and Subject Access Requests (SARs), ensuring compliance with Council procedures.

*

Deputise for the Head of Service at appropriate meetings and support areas such as financial forecasting.

*

Lead and coordinate business support staff, monitoring performance, providing supervision and supporting staff development.

*

Manage team and service meeting schedules, forward plans and agendas.

Requirements

*

A successful track record in a relevant business support or management role.

*

Experience across finance, HR, business continuity, change management and business support processes.

*

Strong financial and numerical skills, including the ability to produce and interpret financial reports.

*

Confident using IT packages, including Microsoft Excel and other information systems.
