Business Manager - Education Salary: £38,626.00 - £44,711.00

A successful faith school in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Business Manager to join its senior leadership team. In this key role, you'll oversee the strategic and day-to-day management of non-teaching operations, including finance, HR, facilities, administration, catering, ICT, and compliance. Working closely with the Principal and Trust teams, you'll help ensure the school runs smoothly and provides an excellent environment for students, staff, and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the school's business and resource functions in alignment with Trust policies and the School Improvement Plan.
• Oversee operational management of support services including finance, HR, administration, estates, catering, IT, and health and safety.
• Act as Health & Safety Lead and Fire Officer, ensuring a secure and compliant school site.
• Support accurate financial planning and monitoring in collaboration with the Trust's Finance Business Partner.
• Lead the effective recruitment, development, and performance management of support staff.
• Ensure compliance with data protection laws and act as the school's Data Protection Lead.
• Manage relationships with the wider Trust, contractors, suppliers, and community partners.
• Lead on admissions administration, pupil attendance processes, and key MIS systems (including SIMS).
• Promote and uphold the school's ethos, values, and faith-based approach to education.

• A confident leader with experience managing operations in a school or similar setting.
• Financially literate, with strong understanding of budget monitoring, procurement, and reporting.
• Experienced in HR, facilities, compliance, and contract management.
• Committed to working within the values and vision of a faith-based school environment.
• An effective communicator, able to collaborate with staff, parents, governors, and external partners

Essential Requirements

• Relevant qualification in school business management or a related field (e.g. CSBM/DSBM/NVQ in Business Admin/Finance).
• Proven track record of leading business services in an educational or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, GDPR, and health and safety compliance.
• Experience working with MIS and finance systems (e.g. SIMS, PS Financials).
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
