Rate: £17 per hour (via Umbrella)
Contract: 3+ Months
Start Date: Around 7th July 2025
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, hybrid working with two days in the office (Lynton House). For the first four weeks, full-time office attendance is required for training.

Job Overview:

Are you an organised and detail-oriented professional with a flair for finance? Redbridge Council is seeking a Business Support Officer to provide essential support in their finance department. This temporary role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your finance and administrative skills while contributing to local government services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage a busy departmental mailbox, ensuring timely responses and accurate tracking.

  • Process invoices and payments in line with council procedures.

  • Liaise with external providers to chase outstanding invoices and ensure timely submissions.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a finance-focused administrative or business support role.

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • Confident communicator with the ability to follow up with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience using financial systems and working with invoices is highly desirable.

  • Computer literacy, particularly in Excel, would be a plus (training on systems will be provided).

Additional Information:
  • Training: Full training will be provided, including a period of full-time office work for the first four weeks.

  • Working Hours: This is a 35-hour per week role, with hybrid working. The successful candidate will be expected to work from Lynton House for two days a week. For the first four weeks, full-time office attendance will be required to support training.

  • Start Date: The ideal candidate should be available to start around 7th July 2025.

  • Future Opportunities: While there is no immediate potential for the role to become permanent, this could change based on departmental needs.

  • Proficiency in Systems: Full training will be provided on the specific financial systems used, but proficiency in Excel and general computer literacy is a plus
