Job Description - Business Unit Manager

Are you an experienced Business Unit Manager? Have you got experience working within a metal manufacturing environment? Are you confident in maximizing individual and plant wide productivity and quality?
A leading heavy metal manufacturer is seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Unit Manager to join its senior leadership team. This pivotal role is responsible for driving operational excellence across Safety, Quality, Throughput, and Cost – while building and inspiring high-performing teams.

Business Unit Manager
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage daily operations across business units, ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are met.
Drive HSE compliance and Zero Harm initiatives, promoting a strong culture of safety and accountability.
Oversee workforce planning, performance management, and team development for Production Managers.
Monitor KPIs and operational reports to drive efficiency, productivity, and cost control.
Champion continuous improvement through Lean, 6S, and structured problem-solving tools.

Business Unit Manager
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills:

Demonstrated leadership in operations/production management n a heavy industrial environment (Aerospace is desirable)
Skilled in operational planning, capacity modelling, and budget control.
Strong understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001, and health & safety regulations.
Confident communicator with a hands-on leadership style and a passion for continuous improvement.
