Our client is a well-established, family-run butcher based in Langford, Essex. Supplying high-quality products to restaurants, commercial customers and online consumers, the business is continuing to grow and is now looking to recruit a Butcher's Assistant to support its experienced butchery team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected local business where you will play an important role in ensuring customer orders are prepared accurately and dispatched on time.

The Role

Working alongside experienced Butchers, you will support the day-to-day operation of the business by preparing products for dispatch and ensuring the working environment remains organised and efficient.

Key responsibilities include:

* Assisting the Butchers with the preparation of customer orders

* Packing and labelling products accurately

* Weighing and portioning products as instructed

* Preparing orders for commercial and online customers

* Maintaining stock and storage areas

* Ensuring food hygiene and food safety standards are maintained at all times

* Cleaning and maintaining work areas and equipment

* Assisting with goods-in and stock rotation

* Supporting the wider team as required

About You

* Previous experience within food production, butchery, warehousing or a similar environment would be beneficial

* Reliable and punctual

* Comfortable working in a chilled environment

* Strong attention to detail

* Good organisational skills

* Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

* Positive attitude and willingness to learn

* Team player with a strong work ethic
