Buyer

A global manufacturing business require a Buyer. Applicants need tactical procurement or buying experience, be familiar with MRP/ERP and be comfortable driving suppliers against tactical KPI metrics. This is a 12 month FTC position.

The Buyer will join a team of Buyers and Senior Buyer reporting into a Purchasing Manager. This team is responsible for the achievement of tactical purchasing objectives - driving suppliers against OTD/OTIF metrics. Supplier management and procurement activity is closely linked to MRP/ERP triggers, and in the role the Buyer would work with UK and global suppliers - mechanical, electronic and raw materials.

Specific duties of the Buyer include:

• Purchase order to management from placement, expediting and delivery
• Supply Chain resilience and risk mitigation activities
• Maintenance of inventory and procurement data within the MRP system
• Supplier management against OTD/OTIF, development corrective action and improvement plans
• Support Purchasing Manager in continuous improvement activity around MRP and supplier performance

Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Purchasing experience as a Buyer, Senior Buyer or Junior Buyer
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering business
• MRP/ERP literate
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Analytical, problem-solving mindset
