Buyer

• Source and purchase materials and components to support production

• Maintain accurate purchase orders and delivery schedules using Microsoft Dynamics NAV

• Run weekly MRP processes and manage inventory levels effectively

• Liaise with suppliers, production, customer service, and warehouse teams

• Control and manage subcontract free-issue items

• Ensure compliance with quality, cost, and on-time delivery standards

• Keep MRP/ERP data up to date with accurate lead times and pricing

• Proven experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing environment

• Knowledge of subcontract and direct procurement, particularly fabricated or machined components (metal & plastic)

• Strong MRP/ERP skills - ideally Microsoft Dynamics NAV

• Confident reading and understanding technical drawings/specifications

• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables)

• Commercial awareness with a track record of delivering cost savings

• Strong negotiation, organisation, and supplier relationship skills

• CIPS qualification is a plus, but not essential
