Buyer

Looking for a highly motivated and detail oriented individual to join our Procurement team. The position is ideal for someone who is already working in a procurement role within a manufacturing organisation and with an understanding of steel products with a keen interest in developing their career.

Client Details

Our client is a respected and established entity in the industrial and manufacturing sector. This medium-sized organisation is known for its high-quality products and is based in the thriving industrial estate of Brierley Hill.

Description

· Raise and process Purchase orders accurately and promptly

· Maintain and update supplier records

· Expedite deliveries and progress quotations

· Raise RFQ's and monitor budgets against spend.

· Assist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers

· Support the Purchasing Manager in negotiating prices and terms with suppliers.

· Assist in Managing and controlling stock/ inventory levels.

· Support the Purchasing Manager and Quality Manager in Supplier audits.

· Resolve and approve invoice queries

Profile

A successful Buyer should have:

· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a particular emphasis on verbal.

· Proficient user of Excel, Word & Powerpoint.

· Ability to work in a fast paced team environment.

· Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and priorities

· Basic engineering and steel industry knowledge.

· Enthusiasm and desire for learning and ambition to progress in the business.

· Good standard of numeracy and literacy

· 3 years Purchasing or negotiating experience as a minimum.

· Ideally, CIPS Level 5 or higher.

· GCSE's inc Maths & English (desirable).
