About the Company:

SF Recruitment are working with a leading business within the space to recruit a Buyer role. Hybrid working model, Warwickshire based.

Role Overview:
As a Strategic Buyer, you will be a key member of the Procurement team, responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies to ensure the best value in terms of cost, quality, and service. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and collaborate cross-functionally to support product development, manufacturing, and commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for direct and indirect categories within the pharmaceutical sector.
- Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier agreements to ensure favourable terms.
- Monitor market trends, risks, and opportunities to inform procurement decisions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance teams to align procurement with operational needs.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and process improvements across the supply chain. Benchmarking, resourcing etc.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and risk assessments.

Requirements:
- Proven experience in strategic procurement or buying, preferably within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Familiarity with GMP regulations and pharmaceutical supply chain requirements.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in procurement tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- CIPS qualification (or working toward) is preferred.
