Are you a commercially savvy Buyer with a passion for engineering? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where every decision makes a tangible impact?

We’re working with a leading mechanical engineering business, known for delivering innovative, high-quality solutions across a wide range of industries. They’re now looking for a proactive and results-driven Buyer to join their team based in Dudley – Please note this is an office-based position.

Salary is circa £40,000 per annum depending on experience. Benefits include 5% pension contribution, 32 days holiday including Bank Holidays – increasing to 33 days including Bank Holidays in 2026, life assurance, cycle to work scheme, birthday vouchers, cash health care scheme, EAP and free car parking.

Hours of work are 40 hours per week, working 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure materials and outsourced engineering services
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliers
• Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement to support production
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor performance
• Analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Develop and implement procurement strategies
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and inventory levels
• Coordinate with internal departments to meet operational needs
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and industry standards

Candidate Profile:

• Proactive and commercially focused Buyer with a solid understanding of engineering environments
• Experience working within the commercial engineering sector
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with SAGE or similar procurement systems
