Salary: £30,000–£32,000 per annum (DOE)
Reporting to: Commercial Manager
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (1-hour lunch break) Office based.

The Opportunity

Our established and growing client is seeking a hands-on Buyer to join its Commercial and Estimating Department. This role plays a vital part in ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services, with a strong focus on maximising profitability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, select, and manage suppliers for materials and services
• Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing and terms, and issue purchase orders
• Track deliveries, stock levels, and supplier performance
• Liaise closely with estimators and project teams to align purchasing with upcoming work
• Stay informed on market and product developments
• Assist with procurement strategy and continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in a buying or procurement role within a joinery, fabrication or shopfitting environment (desirable)
• Market and product knowledge relevant to the trade
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
• Hands-on, proactive approach with strong attention to detail
