Buyer

Our client, a distinguished leader in electronics manfuacturing is seeking a dedicated and skilled Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis. As part of the Regional Supply Chain Management Department, you will report to the Regional Supply Chain Manager and contribute significantly to the procurement processes that support daily material needs.

• Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, repair, and NPI departments to acquire inventory in a cost-effective and timely manner.
• Develop and maintain a technical understanding of purchased products.
• Utilise RFQ, negotiation, price analysis, and cost analysis techniques to obtain materials and place Purchase Orders (PO).
• Maximise material availability while minimising inventory through materials management tools such as MRP or other custom supply solutions.
• Manage raw material inventory turns as required.
• Monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned suppliers to ensure the highest quality at the best value.
• Recommend cost-saving proposals, including make-versus-buy analysis and alternative sourcing.
• Handle tactical purchasing activities such as expediting material shortages, managing open PO's, and coordinating ECO activities with suppliers.
• Manage supplier On Time Delivery performance and establish strong working relationships with suppliers and internal customers
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Proficient analytical and multi-tasking skills.
• Good PC skills, including Excel, Word, and other MS Standard Office applications.
• Proficiency in SAP applications related to purchasing.
• Understanding of fundamental purchasing processes and ability to solve problems and make sound decisions with minimal support from management.

• Experience in a purchasing/planning environment, ideally within a fast-paced, high mix/low volume setting.
• Previous experience in electronics purchasing is strongly desired.

• Degree educated of BA Hons or similar.
