Construction Buyer – Heckmondwike
Salary: Up to £55,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits

Are you an experienced Construction Buyer looking for your next challenge with a forward-thinking company? We’re working with a well-established construction firm based in Heckmondwike, who are looking to bring an enthusiastic and detail-driven Buyer on board.

As a Construction Buyer, you’ll be a key part of the commercial team, responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, plant, and services for various construction projects across the region. You'll play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality.

• Source and purchase construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor services

• Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers

• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders

• Monitor material usage and deliveries to support project timelines

• Maintain accurate procurement records and manage budgets effectively

• Use procurement software (ideally COINS) to track orders and manage supply chain information

• Proven experience in a Buyer role within the construction industry

• Strong negotiation and communication skills

• Excellent knowledge of building materials and supply chains

• Familiarity with COINS or similar construction-specific ERP systems

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• A proactive, problem-solving mindset
