Job Description - Buyer

A growing aerospace company is seeking a proactive and commercially astute Buyer to join its procurement team, supporting the supply chain for cutting-edge space propulsion systems. This role offers the opportunity to shape procurement strategies in a dynamic and innovative environment, working closely with engineering and production teams to ensure high-quality, timely supply for critical projects.

Key Responsibilities

Work with project teams to define procurement needs, lead times, and quality requirements for bought-in goods.
Lead the end-to-end buying process, including supplier sourcing, vetting, negotiation, order placement, and relationship management.
Monitor stock levels to ensure material availability in line with project milestones.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and project management teams to align procurement with project success.
Develop and maintain a resilient supplier base, ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and ESG standards.

Requirements

Proven experience in procurement within precision manufacturing or engineering.
Proven ability to source niche products in limited supplier markets.
Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
Experience working in regulated environments (ideally AS9100).
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
