About the Role

Are you looking to take the next step in your procurement career? We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Assistant Procurement Manager to join our Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the delivery of goods, services, and works contracts, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and helping the business achieve its objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Procurement Manager in procuring and managing contracts, including new, retendered, and renewed agreements.
• Assess and challenge specifications to ensure they are fit for purpose and reflect best practice.
• Assist in supplier negotiations and conduct contract reviews.
• Prepare procurement documentation (Expressions of Interest, Invitations to Tender, Contracts, etc.) in line with current legislation.
• Evaluate tender proposals and identify the most economically advantageous options.
• Support the development of recommendation papers for preferred suppliers.
• Provide technical advice and implement procurement content for project teams and stakeholders.
• Build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.

What We’re Looking For

• A Levels or equivalent qualification.
• Procurement or commercial experience.
• Understanding of competitive tenders and contract negotiation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
• Knowledge of relevant procurement legislation (Utilities Contracts Regulations, Public Contracts Regulations, Procurement Act) is desirable.
• CIPS qualification or willingness to study for CIPS is preferred.
