Buyer

Tower Cold Chain provides temperature-controlled solutions to the global pharmaceutical and life science industries. We have experienced significant growth over the past 2 years by providing our customers with innovative products with class leading performance.  To continue this growth trajectory, we are looking for a Buyer.

As a lean organisation, we require a driven individual who can deliver strategic leadership and implementation for both Direct and Indirect procurement needs.  You will be active in managing the commercial needs of our outsourced base of manufacturing suppliers.

You will work closely with business partners in Commercial, Operations and Technical to ensure all sourcing needs are understood and planned for.

Responsibilities

• Supplier Relationship Management


• Raw materials market surveillance


• Supplier commercial and legal negotiations


• Contract development and management


• Lead supplier tendering activities for direct and indirect services and goods


• Support Product Development activities


• Maintain program of continuous price surveillance and PPV


• Identify and manage Supply Chain risk


• Establish best in class goals, a suite of performance MI and a process to track performance


• Working cross-functionally to ensure procurement expertise is contributing to wider business goals

Job Requirements

Education

• Degree educated or equivalent desirable

Experience                                       

• Proven track record in managing direct procurement activity – from sourcing through tender management, contract drafting and performance management


• Experienced in managing and delivering business change


• Demonstrable experience of negotiating high value, high risk contracts with sustainable savings targets achieved


• Experience of P2P systems implementation would be desirable


• Contribution to setting departmental strategic goals and budget setting


• Packaging category responsibilities would be desirable

Additional Training

• Professionally qualified under CIPS or working towards

• Highly motivated to work in a flexible capacity to support Tower in its rapid growth


• Desire to be part of a small team; shapes its remit and culture


• Excellent influencing and communication skills


• Stakeholder management both internally and externally


• Intuitive problem solver


• Analytical mindset; organised and methodical


• Current IT skills including P2P practitioner

Travel

• 20% travel is expected both within the UK and Abroad
