Role Description The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing a variety of food products, negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. The role involves working closely with internal teams, analysing market trends, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
Main responsibilities: Analysing market trends to help create and implement strategies that drive sales growth and researching new suppliers to find competitive rates for new products or services Negotiating prices and terms of sale with suppliers and manufacturers Owning and managing some key food categories in the business (this could be across ambient/frozen etc). Ensuring suppliers are contractually compliant Sourcing and onboarding new suppliers, including negotiating and setting commercial contracts, new line forms Looking at opportunities to innovate with suppliers and create efficient, for example reducing packaging to create a shared cost benefit Support NPD (New Product Development) projects Trading performance responsibility, including regular sales reports, budgets, and targets
Qualifications Experience in procurement and purchasing Strong negotiation and analytical skills Knowledge of the food industry and market trends Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities Ability to manage multiple suppliers and projects simultaneously Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems Relevant qualifications in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field

Pay: £35,000-£45,000.00 per year (DOE)
