Buyer Hybrid working

Overview
My client, a global leader in the manufacture of pharmaceutical / life science / biotech products are seeking a proactive Buyer to join their dynamic procurement team. The role will require you to perform procurement activities to enable its commitments to customers. You will be a skilled relationship manager and able to demonstrate experience of procuring raw materials to support manufacturing demand.

The role is based in South Wales and offering a hybrid/flexible working arrangement so commutable from the majority of South Wales and Bristol locations.

Responsibilities

• You will be fully responsible for managing purchase price variation, OTIF delivery performance and risk mitigation for the spend portfolio, developing action plans that drive improvement and business profitability, ensuring customer orders are delivered on time, every time.
• To work in collaboration contract service leader supporting new product/project development initiatives, identifying new sources of supply opportunities, and supporting actions to validate these new sources of supply.
• Supporting risk mitigation and change of control processes to support launching new products to market.
• Attend monthly procurement team review reporting summary of portfolio progress against PPV and Supplier OTIF driven actions and initiatives.
• Lead supplier quarterly business reviews, build supplier relationships, driving improvements, and ensuring products are procured at the most economically advantageous cost.
• Working with supply chain to ensure compliance management of import/export regulation requirements and accountabilities.
• Raise and process purchase orders for 'buy for resale'.

Experience

• Previous experience in a Purchasing role.
• Experience working within a highly regulated industry such as Pharma, Life Science or Biotech would be an advantage but not essential.
• Proficient in using procurement ERP systems to support procurement activities.
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successfully managing supplier relationships.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with suppliers and internal teams.
