Title: Buyer (Packaging)
Salary: £33,000
Pattern: Mon-Fri, office hours, site-based
Location: Dartford, Kent

An established and internationally renowned FMCG operation are looking to add to their team as part of recent growth!

This would be an exciting opportunity for those to align with a business that offers serious career opportunities as they continue to expand their business.

• Managing the procurement and purchasing of packaging and consumables, aligning stock levels with demand forecasts.

• Overseeing packaging intake procedures and ensuring compliance with internal standards and customer specifications.

• Monitoring inventory systems, maintaining accurate stock records and leading regular physical counts and system reconciliations.

• Liaising with warehouse and production teams to ensure packaging availability for customer orders, often at short notice.

• Leading and supporting label room staff including scheduling, training, and performance reviews.

• Handling all site consumables ordering and supporting pallet stock management.

• Working closely with suppliers to negotiate pricing, ensure compliance documentation is maintained, and seek cost-saving opportunities.

• Supporting the safe and efficient storage, movement, and recycling of packaging materials.

• Collaborating with sales, operations, and sourcing teams on packaging innovations and design changes.
  
  

• Solid experience in packaging procurement or supply chain within a production or FMCG environment.

• Strong working knowledge of stock management systems and ERP platforms (e.g. SAP, D365, Freshware).

• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond flexibly to change.

• Proven ability to lead and develop team members.

• Comfortable communicating across departments and building strong supplier relationships.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with label creation software is a plus.

• A problem-solver with a hands-on approach and a sharp eye for efficiency and cost control.
