Buyer / Supply Chain Co-ordinator

A well-established manufacturing business based in Bilston is looking to strengthen its Supply Chain function with the appointment of a Buyer / Supply Chain Co-ordinator.

Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager, this is a varied role covering purchasing, supplier management, expediting and wider supply chain coordination. You will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality and Finance to ensure materials, subcontract requirements and services are sourced and delivered in line with customer and business requirements.

The role would suit an experienced Buyer, Purchasing Officer or Supply Chain professional who has worked within a manufacturing environment and is looking for a role offering genuine variety and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

* Purchasing raw materials, metals, subcontract services and other requirements.

* Sourcing and evaluating supplier quotations.

* Negotiating pricing, delivery and commercial terms with suppliers.

* Raising and maintaining Purchase Orders and call-off orders.

* Expediting orders and resolving supplier delivery issues

* Maintaining purchasing records and ERP / MRP system information.

The Person

The successful candidate is likely to have:

* Previous experience within a Buyer, Purchasing or Supply Chain role.

* Experience working within a manufacturing environment.

* Good knowledge of purchasing and supplier management processes.

* Experience using MRP / ERP systems.

* CIPS Level 3 would be advantageous but is not essential.
