I'm currently recruiting for a Technical Designer – CAD & Estimating to join an established and growing specialist engineering/manufacturing business near West Sussex.

This is a varied role combining CAD design, project support, administration, estimating and quotations, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical and commercial sides of a project.

The role
This position is roughly split between project administration/support and technical design & estimating.

You'll be responsible for supporting projects from enquiry through to completion, producing CAD designs, preparing quotations and estimates, and ensuring projects are accurately costed and documented.

Key responsibilities

* Producing technical drawings and designs using CAD

* Preparing quotations, estimates and project costings

* Supporting projects throughout their lifecycle

* Managing project administration and documentation

* Reviewing customer requirements and translating them into practical solutions

* Liaising with customers and internal teams

* Supporting the wider sales/project function with technical information

* Ensuring pricing and project information is accurate

* Managing multiple projects and priorities effectively

About you
We're looking for someone with a background in CAD/design who also has experience with estimating, quotations or costing.

You'll ideally have:

* Experience using CAD software

* Experience working in an engineering, manufacturing or technical environment

* Experience producing quotations, estimates or costings

* Strong commercial awareness

* Excellent attention to detail

* Good numerical and analytical skills

* Strong organisation and administration skills

* The ability to interpret technical requirements and drawings

* Good communication skills
