Job Title: CAD Technician

Location: Outskirts of Swindon

Salary: Up to £30,000

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Working Hours: 08:30 - 17:00

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our team in Shrivenham. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting architect’s drawings and designing bespoke insulation solutions, including calculating U-values, condensation risk analysis, and acoustic performance through to material take-offs. You will work closely with our clients, the design team, and project architects to manage compliance checks against specifications and client requirements. You will attend pre-construction design development meetings and undertake site visits to check progress during the construction phase. The ideal candidate will be proficient in 2D CAD and have some experience in the construction, structural, or civil engineering sectors. Full on-the-job training for our specialist design software will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret architect’s drawings and design bespoke insulation solutions
• Calculate U-values, condensation risk analysis, and acoustic performance through to material take-offs
• Manage compliance checks against specifications and client requirements
• Attend pre-construction design development meetings and undertake site visits to check progress during the construction phase

Key Requirements:

• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office
• Knowledge and experience of 2D
• Ability to read construction drawings
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to inspire confidence and develop long-term relationships
• Good work ethic and aptitude for continuous learning and improvement
• Able to work under own initiative and meet deadlines
• Punctual, smart, and hardworking

Highly Desirable:

• Knowledge of flat roofing
• Understanding of basic U-values
• Preference to work 2D CAD
