An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-focused CAD Technician to join a growing façade design team based in the East Midlands. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of façade and cladding projects, supporting the production of high-quality technical drawings and coordinated 3D models from concept through to delivery.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring façade systems are accurately detailed, buildable, compliant, and delivered in line with programme requirements.
Responsibilities
Produce accurate 2D CAD drawings, technical details, and layouts in line with project specifications Assist in the development and coordination of 3D models using Revit or similar software Update and revise drawings in response to design changes and internal reviews Ensure all drawings are issued in accordance with company standards and document control procedures Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, and organised file management systems Coordinate façade designs with architects, structural engineers, and MEP consultants Identify and help resolve design clashes or inconsistencies Support the wider team in meeting project deadlines and programme requirementsDesign & Technical Support
You will assist in the detailing and coordination of a range of façade systems, including:
3D mock-ups Brick slip cladding systems Rainscreen cladding systems, including aluminium detailing Curtain walling Window and glazing systems Interpreting architectural drawings, specifications, and schedules Ensuring drawings reflect practical and buildable design solutions Supporting design coordination meetings and implementing agreed actions Contributing to the continuous improvement of drawing standards and internal processesEducation, Skills & Experience
Design related qualifications / BTEC Level 3 in Construction or Engineering / HNC/HND in Construction or Civil Engineering Previous experience producing technical CAD drawings within the construction or façade industry Proficiency in AutoCAD and ideally Revit or other 3D modelling software Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary design environment Good understanding of façade systems, cladding, curtain walling, or glazing packages Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
