An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CAD Technician to join a well-established engineering business specialising in the design and delivery of innovative power generation and energy solutions.
Working within a busy Design team, you will play a key role in supporting engineering projects by producing high-quality technical drawings, 3D models and design documentation. The Role
Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be responsible for producing accurate engineering drawings and supporting the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion.
Key responsibilities for CAD Technician include:
* Producing design layouts and detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
* Creating and maintaining accurate 3D models.
* Integrating topographical survey information into designs using OS coordinates.
* Producing setting-out plans and construction drawings.
* Updating drawings and documentation in line with revision control procedures.
* Maintaining and developing the CAD library of standard objects and symbols.
* Providing CAD support to the Design, Projects, Sales and Service teams.
* Liaising with clients and suppliers to ensure the timely flow of project information.
* Attending site visits to gather design information and update as-built drawings where required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in Computer Aided Design (or equivalent).
* A minimum of 5 years' experience using 3D AutoCAD within an engineering or construction environment.
* Strong experience producing detailed engineering drawings from 3D models.
* Experience using AutoCAD MEP.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
* Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
* A full UK driving licence.
