CAD Technician | Rotherham, South Yorkshire | £28,000-£32,000

W Talent are exclusively supporting a large engineering and manufacturing business based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, who are looking to recruit a CAD Technician to join their growing design and technical team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD Technician with strong 2D and 3D CAD skills to work on a variety of engineering projects within a collaborative manufacturing environment, supporting designs from initial concept through to manufacture and installation.

The Role - CAD Technician

The successful CAD Technician will work closely with internal teams to produce accurate technical drawings, support project delivery and ensure designs meet customer and manufacturing requirements. The role will involve creating and amending engineering drawings, maintaining project documentation and liaising with Sales, Contracts, Manufacturing and Installation teams to ensure designs are delivered accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Produce accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
Create and update general arrangement, fabrication, CNC and structural steelwork drawings.
Maintain and manage project drawings using Vault.
Amend existing drawings in line with project and customer requirements.
Produce manufacturing lists and technical documentation.
Support manufacturing and installation teams with technical drawings and design queries.
Liaise with internal departments to ensure designs meet project specifications.
Assist with design reviews and manufacturing feasibility checks.
Ensure drawings are accurate and comply with relevant engineering and quality standards.
Manage multiple drawing projects and meet agreed deadlines.Key Requirements

Previous experience in a CAD Technician, CAD Designer or similar technical drawing role.
Experience using AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Inventor.
Background in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Ability to produce accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings.
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to manage workloads and work to deadlines.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with different departments.
Confident using Microsoft Office packages, including Excel and Word.Salary & Additional Information

The CAD Technician will be based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, with a salary of £28,000-£32,000, depending on experience.
