CAD Technician - Civil Infrastructure Engineering

St Albans, Hertfordshire (Hybrid - 3 Days Per Week in the Office)

£38,000 - £44,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the Role

I am currently partnering with a leading specialist engineering consultancy that is seeking to appoint an experienced CAD Technician to join its growing technical team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of infrastructure projects across the Rail, Highways, Power and Energy sectors, supporting the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions for a variety of clients.

The successful candidate will have experience working within one or more of the following disciplines:

Structures
Drainage
Civil Engineering
HighwaysYou will be responsible for producing accurate engineering drawings and models, working closely with engineers and project teams to support the successful delivery of projects from concept through to detailed design.

Working on a hybrid basis, with three days per week in the St Albans office, you will utilise a range of industry-standard software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit and MicroStation.

Essential Requirements

Experience working within Structures, Drainage, Civils or Highways projects within the Rail, Highways, Power or Energy sectors.
Typically 3+ years' experience within a CAD Technician or similar role.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and at least one of the following:
Civil 3D
Revit
MicroStation
Ability to produce accurate, high-quality engineering drawings and models efficiently and to a high technical standard.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

Desirable Requirements

Experience using ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Forma or other Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms.
EngTech accreditation or other relevant professional recognition.
Experience or interest in reinforced concrete detailing.
Experience or interest in digital engineering and automation tools such as Dynamo, Generative Components or Python.

Civil 3D (Highways and Earthworks)
Revit Structures (Intelligent Modelling)
Revit RC & 3DCADS RC (3D Reinforced Concrete Detailing)
MicroStation (2D & 3D)
OpenBuildings Designer (3D Intelligent Modelling)
ProjectWise & Forma (ACC) (Common Data Environments)
Autodesk InfraWorks (Concept Design and Visualisation)
